Moniak went 5-for-5 and finished with four extra-base hits as the Angels set a franchise record for most runs scored in a game. Eduardo Escobar, acquired from the New York Mets on Friday, had two hits and scored four times in his Angels debut.
Hunter Renfroe also tallied five hits, and he and Moniak had four RBIs each. David Fletcher homered among his four hits and drove in five runs, Drury had three hits and four RBIs, Trout and Thaiss also had three hits apiece and Taylor Ward had two hits and three RBIs for Los Angeles.
The Angels banged out 28 hits -also a franchise record - to overshadow a strong performance by starter Griffin Canning (6-2), who had seven strikeouts in six scoreless innings. Brenton Doyle homered for the Rockies, who suffered their worst loss in franchise history. Los Angeles led 2-0 entering the third but jumped on starter Chase Anderson (0-2), who allowed nine runs on 10 hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Braves 7, Reds 6
Travis d'Arnaud homered and had four hits and visiting Atlanta belted four home runs in a heart-stopping victory that snapped Cincinnati's 12-game winning streak.
The Braves bounced back from the end of their eight-game win streak Friday when they had five homers in an 11-10 loss. Matt Olson added his team-leading 24th homer - his third in two games - while Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna also went deep for Atlanta.
Reliever Michael Tonkin (4-2) struck out two over 2 1/3 hitless, scoreless innings to record the win. Cincinnati closer Raisel Iglesias faced his former team for the first time, allowing one-out solo homers to Jake Fraley, who homered in his third straight game, and Will Benson. But Iglesias fanned Matt McLain and Jonathan India to earn his 11th save in 13 chances.
Cubs 9, Cardinals 1
Ian Happ homered twice and Justin Steele struck out eight over six innings as Chicago defeated St. Louis in the opener of the two-game 2023 MLB London Series.
Happ went deep for the fifth and sixth times in his career against St. Louis veteran Adam Wainwright (3-2), and Dansby Swanson clubbed a late two-run homer for the Cubs, who have won four straight.
Christopher Morel, Yan Gomes and Nick Madrigal - the bottom three in Chicago's order - combined for seven hits and an RBI apiece as the Cubs pounded out 14 hits and drove in six runs with two out. Steele (8-2) didn't yield a hit until the fifth.
White Sox 5, Red Sox 4
Elvis Andrus hit a two-out single off Kenley Jansen that scored pinch runner Zach Remillard in the bottom of the ninth inning to help Chicago halt a two-game losing streak by beating visiting Boston in the second game of a three-game series.
Chicago received solo home runs from Yasmani Grandal, Jake Burger, Luis Robert Jr. and Andrew Vaughn. Jansen (2-4) retired the first two batters he faced before Gavin Sheets pinch-hit for Clint Frazier and singled on a ball that first baseman Triston Casas couldn't handle to set up the game-ending sequence.
The Red Sox trailed 4-3 with two outs in the top of the ninth, but Justin Turner's single against Kendall Graveman (3-3) drove in Jarren Duran from third to tie the game. Casas had a two-run homer for Boston.
Giants 7, Diamondbacks 6
Luis Matos hit his first major league home run, Joc Pederson collected a triple, a single and two RBIs, and host San Francisco made it two straight over first-place Arizona.
Blake Sabol drove in a pair of runs and Thairo Estrada scored twice for the Giants, who are within 1 1/2 games of the Diamondbacks in the National League West after winning 12 of their last 13 games.
Arizona got within 7-6 with two outs in the ninth on a run-scoring infield single by Lourdes Gurriel Jr., before Camilo Doval struck out Pavin Smith with runners at second and third. Merrill Kelly took the loss, charged with seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits in five-plus innings.
Orioles 6, Mariners 4 (10 innings)
Ryan McKenna hit a two-run, walk-off homer with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Baltimore a victory against visiting Seattle.
Orioles right-hander Mike Baumann (5-0) pitched a scoreless 10th for the victory. Anthony Santander went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs for the Orioles.
The Mariners forced extra innings on Mike Ford's solo shot off a 100 mph fastball from Orioles closer Felix Bautista with two outs in the ninth inning. It was Ford's second homer of the game. Aaron Hicks also homered for Baltimore, and J.P. Crawford and Julio Rodriguez had solo shots for Seattle.
Mets 4, Phillies 2
Max Scherzer tossed six solid innings to earn his second straight win as the slumping New York Mets edged hosts Philadelphia in the middle game of a three-game series.
Pete Alonso collected the tiebreaking RBI in the sixth inning for the Mets, who are 6-14 this month. Starling Marte had two hits, including a homer. Scherzer (7-2) gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out eight.
Nick Castellanos went 3-for-3 with a homer for the Phillies, who fell to 14-7 in June. Trea Turner had an RBI single while Bryson Stott and Brandon Marsh each finished with two hits. Phillies starter Cristopher Sanchez (0-1) took the loss.
Yankees 1, Rangers 0
Luis Severino pitched six effective innings and the New York Yankees beat visiting Texas.
Severino (1-2) allowed five hits, struck out four and walked two in a 95-pitch outing. Billy McKinney hit his fourth homer since being called up to replace Aaron Judge as the Yankees won for the third time in five games following a four-game losing streak.
Jon Gray (6-3) allowed McKinney's homer among three hits in five innings. Gray struck out four. Marcus Semien had three hits for the Rangers.
Dodgers 8, Astros 7
A three-run eighth inning, which included a baulk for the go-ahead run, allowed the Los Angeles Dodgers to rally for a victory over visiting Houston while extending its winning streak to four games.
The Dodgers drew three walks to start the eighth inning and got a sacrifice fly from Jason Heyward, an RBI double from James Outman and a balk from Astros right-hander Ryne Stanek to score pinch runner Jonny Deluca to jump in front after blowing an early three-run lead.
Alex Bregman had a grand slam for the Astros, while starter Ronel Blanco recovered from a bumpy start to retire 16 of the last 17 batters he faced. Houston lost for the seventh time in its past nine games.
Blue Jays 7, Athletics 3
Danny Jansen and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each hit two-run home runs and Toronto defeated visiting Oakland.
Guerrero had three RBIs for the Blue Jays, who gained a split of the first two games of the three-game series. Guerrero has homered in two consecutive games, his first two home runs at home this season.
Toronto right-hander Jose Berrios allowed three runs (two earned), six hits and two walks while striking out eight in six innings. Seth Brown hit a solo home run for Oakland.
Marlins 4, Pirates 3 (11 innings)
Jon Berti stroked a walk-off RBI single in the 11th inning and Luis Arraez raised his best-in-the-majors batting average to .401 as host Miami beat Pittsburgh.
Marlins ghost runner Joey Wendle went to third on Nick Fortes' sacrifice bunt before scoring on Berti's one-out, opposite-field single to right. Arraez went 1-for-3 with a homer, two RBIs and one walk.
The Pirates, who have lost 11 of their past 12 games, got a solid start from Osvaldo Bido (no decision). He gave up nine hits, allowing just two runs in 5 2/3 innings. Andrew McCutchen went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, three walks and one run for Pittsburgh.
Royals 9, Rays 4
Right-hander Jordan Lyles broke an 11-game losing streak as Kansas City rallied past host Tampa Bay with nine unanswered runs. The visitors had dropped all 15 starts by Lyles (1-11) this season.
Lyles yielded four runs and eight hits over six innings, with two strikeouts and a walk. Freddy Fermin was 3-for-3 with a three-run homer and two runs, while Drew Waters hit a solo homer and had two runs as the Royals won for the second time in the four-game series.
Tampa Bay's Wander Franco, who was benched for the first two games of the set, belted a 417-foot homer to centre in his first at-bat back. Vidal Brujan notched two hits, including a double, and stole two bases, but the Rays had only two hits over the final seven innings.
Guardians 4, Brewers 2
David Fry delivered a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth inning and hosts Cleveland went on to beat Milwaukee for their fifth win in six games.
Fry joined Jose Ramirez in recording two hits, and Josh Naylor and Andres Gimenez each added RBI singles for the Guardians. Rookie starter Tanner Bibee (4-2) picked up the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits with seven strikeouts and four walks. Emmanuel Clase pitched the ninth to secure his 23rd save.
William Contreras had an RBI single and Christian Yelich scored twice for the Brewers, who have lost three of their last five games. Freddy Peralta (5-7) fell to 0-4 in his last six outings after permitting three runs on four hits in five innings. He struck out five.
Tigers 3, Twins 2
Reese Olson recorded his first career victory, Zach McKinstry drove in two runs and hosts Detroit held off Minnesota.
Olson (1-2) gave up one run and four hits with one walk and nine strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Alex Lange struck out four in 1 1/3 innings to notch his 12th save.
Carlos Correa and Joey Gallo homered for the Twins. Starter Pablo Lopez (3-5) gave up three runs and seven hits in six innings while recording 10 strikeouts.
Nationals 2, Padres 0
Jeimer Candelario and Lane Thomas hit solo homers to spoil Matt Waldron's major league debut, and Josiah Gray and three relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as Washington defeated host San Diego.
Gray (5-6) gave up four hits and four walks with six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings to earn the win. Relievers Mason Thompson, Kyle Finnegan and Hunter Harvey retired all 10 Padres they faced as Washington won just its fifth game in June (5-15).
Waldron, a 26-year-old whose repertoire features a knuckleball, allowed two runs on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in his debut.
