Jumbo-Visma win the opening time trial at Vuelta
Jumbo-Visma won the team time trial in Utrecht at the start of the Vuelta. The initial holder of the leader's red jersey is Dutchman Robert Gesink (36), who was the first of the winning line-up to cross the finish line after 23.2km.
Team Jumbo-Visma, with defending champion Primož Roglič of Slovenia, beat Ineos Grenadiers by 13 seconds, with Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl finishing third by another second.
In the Netherlands, the 77th edition of the Vuelta continues with two flat weekend stages, with the 175km ride from Hertogenbosch back to Utrecht on Saturday.
